The Scented Love Letter...

You don't see a lot of love letters these days. Its a pity how so many staples of the last generations are eventually becoming redundant due to new technology. Receiving a love letter on email while equally titillating for a person in love, will never hold the nostalgic value of a piece of paper with eternal markings of love. A love letter, even when its torn to bits is still a piece of history for its recipient. Will an email ever hold that kind of value?

It was way back in 2004, I think when I received my first love letter. It was anonymous, just a few generic words on an Archie's card. But the card was scented. Roses, I remember. It smelt like roses. Now I have never been a romantic, but it was an experience. One that I still remember at times. Not romantically as such, but as a fond memory.

The fun fact was that I still don't know for sure who actually sent that letter. I mean, I was pretty sure who it was, but the person I suspected never really admitted to actually sending it. So you know, makes it kind of a mystery. Who doesn't like mysteries!

It was my first official love letter. That too from a mysterious admirer. So that's the main reason it was so special back then. But even now, I appreciate the part about it being scented. It was different, something I hadn't thought of before that day.

Anyway, like in those fairy tales, I grew older. And I forgot all about the magical times. I stopped being amazed by little good things in life. So this article here is an active attempt to remember all that was once exciting and lively. I think I really need that in my life right now. You know, the magic of a scented love letter. Something to remind me that life is more than just work and bills and "the future".

That being said, I'd really like it if others would care to share similar wondorous stories from their pasts with me. I could really use those stories in my works, or in my life to remind me of who I once was.

  1. You actually make it seem so easy along with your presentation however I find this topic to be really something which I think I'd by no means understand. It seems too complicated and extremely vast for me. I'm looking ahead in your next post, I will try to get the cling of it! hotmail sign in email
