The Hedonistic Getaway...
Aarav stared at his sweaty palms. Why the hell were his palms sweaty in December? He wiped his palms on the side of his denim, and adjusted the little overnight backpack over his shoulders and moved towards boarding gate number 51 at Terminal 3, IGI airport. The crisp morning breeze hit his face and ruffled his hair as he stepped out into the open airfield to board the long domestic flight. He loved the feel of cold air on his ears. Aarav was feeling nervous, for he was heading on to meet Avni. Avni was a girl Aarav knew back from his school days. They'd re-connected recently and he was now boarding a three hour long flight to the city she was in to meet her. It was a totally impromptu decision and he didn't know what to expect.
Avni and Aarav always had a spark but had never managed to make it into a real flame. But in the last few months, things had changed. Things had escalated quickly when Aarav wrote about school days and mentioned Avni with nostalgia and Avni noticed the same and jokingly teased Aarav through FB comments. And just like that, they started talking again. Even ten years later, Avni found Aarav to be the same jolly person he was in school. And Aarav was blown away by how artistic Avni had become. She was into biking, theatre and fashion blogging, all while holding a successful job as a radio broadcaster. All of a sudden, they were flirting, tagging each other in memes and going nuts with new found entanglement.
And now, he was going to meet her. He was going to check into his suite at the Radisson and she would join him later in the afternoon after finishing up at work. The flight was long and tiring. Chennai was hotter than Delhi and considerably so, evident from the fact that he was now sweating under the sweatshirt he was wearing. He got a call from work and got busy for sometime. And then he received a call from the hotel reception. Avni had arrived and was waiting at the lobby. The plan was to meet Avni for coffee and then see where it'd lead to. But Aarav had lost track of time and he had completely forgotten to shower and asked Avni if she was okay waiting for him for a bit. She said she wouldn't mind coming up to the suite to wait.
When Avnit knocked at the door, Aarav was turning fifteen shades of red with a combination of nervousness and excitement. She was a sight for sore eyes, dressed in a white kurta and slacks, with very subtle makeup and hair tied into the cutest messy bun. And she was holding an overnight bag. Something told Aarav that they weren't gonna have coffee. He quickly ushered her into the room and walked over to the work table to close down his laptop. In his nervous excitement, he forgot to even greet Avni. She set her bag in the closet and walked up to the couch, feeling a little awkward about Aarav's strangely indifferent behaviour. A moment later, Aarav was by her side, apologizing for his demeanor. He told her how nervous he was feeling and within moments, they were locked in an embrace.
And then they were kissing. All awkwardness had suddenly melted away giving way to pure unadulterated passion. They were meeting almost after a decade and still it felt like they knew each other's bodies. Avni was taking in every touch, every breath, every smell and it felt magical. She had fancied Aarav forever and now she was in his arms. She felt like her bones had turned into mush and she was blending in with him. His lips just knew their way around hers and the warmth of his cheek on hers made her feel like basking in the sun.
A week earlier, when Aarav had told her that he wanted to meet her in the weekend, they'd discussed the meeting at length. Avni had told him that she wanted to take it slow, irrespective of how intimate their telephonic conversations had become. But at the last moment, she had decided that she wanted to spend the weekend with him instead of just meeting him and hanging out during the day. And she hadn't told him that. But the overnight bag made it quite obvious, she thought.
Avni's clothes were huddled in a corner within minutes and she was sprawled on the king size bed with Aarav slowly working his way up from her legs, kissing her thighs, caressing them with his lips, driving her crazy. She had fantasized being with Aarav a hundred times before, but he'd never been this, for the lack of a better word, good. And when his lips met hers, she went crazy with pleasure. She grabbed onto his hair and pushed his face deeper into her as she shrieked in pleasure. In that moment, she felt something move inside her.
And when Aarav was finally inside her, making love to her, kissing her, looking into her eyes, Avni couldn't help feeling vulnerable in his arms. She'd walked into the suite partly thinking that this would maybe be a fling, a one-weekend thing but now, as she looked into his brown eyes, his sweaty brow and that expression of earnestness on his face, her heart skipped a beat or two. And then Aarav whispered into her ears, "I wanna do this everyday, for the rest of my life", and then with a kiss on her forehead, he finished the sentence, "with you, Avni."
And a while later, once he was done, Aarav still held on to Avni, cuddling with her, playing with her hair, smelling her incredible fragrance. "You know that was just a horny version of 'I love you', right?", Aarav asked Avni, with a cute little chuckle. She just kissed him deeply as a reply. Avni was amazed by how natural it felt. Natural, familiar and yet, so singularly unique. Everything that Aarav did, turned her on. His kisses were deep and genuine. And they sent shivers down her spine and gave her waves of goosebumps all over her body.
The weekend turned into a crazy pleasure ride. Imagine extreme sexual pleasure richened by intense feelings of romance. It's a genuine miracle when two people match each others' crazy. Avni and Aarav had clicked so well that they just settled into a serene romantic routine within that short weekend. They made love, they cuddled, they kissed, they tied each other up, they used blindfolds, they clicked pictures of each other, they ordered food, they went out, they stayed in and they did everything in between.
The sex was great, no doubt, but it wasn't just the sex that made the weekend so amazing. It was the incredible comfort level that Avni & Aarav developed within moments of togetherness. It was like something out of a Mills & Boons novella. Now life isn't a fairytale, (something I emphasize on very often) but these two had irrefutable chemistry, legendary chemistry. And for once, the stars had aligned perfectly for these two. Both Aarav and Avni were single at the same time, and had been so for a while, which made this a perfect meet-cute.
And just like that, it was time to leave. When Aarav made the call to concierge requesting an airport drop, his heart sank with the feeling of separation. He got teary eyed, which was very rare for him, and he held Avni in his arms and asked her to come with him. She laughed him off, thinking he was joking. And then she realized he wasn't. She told him to get real and they parted with a promise to try to work things out so that they could be at the same place and together. His cab arrived first and even though he was running late, Aarav wouldn't leave till he escorted Avnit to her rickshaw. Avni was taken aback by his manners, something the men she met these days lacked.
And when they waved each other goodbye, both had a million thoughts running through their heads. Avni's hedonistic getaway had turned into what seemed to be the beginning of a romance of a lifetime. Aarav, while wishing it, hadn't thought he'd click so well with the once shy girl from school that he was considering changing jobs to be around her. When Avni reached home, she decided to tell her mum about Aarav. She had gone to him, under the pretense of going for an office tour, but now it just felt wrong to taint something that amazing with a lie.
Aarav was of two minds about the flight. Should he just cancel the ticket and stay back for another day? He texted Avni to ask her. She told him to calm his horses and go back to Delhi. She was there for him and she'd wait for him till next time. "And Aarav, I love you too", Avni shyly whispered in the voice text she sent him. Aarav was all smiles when he boarded Air Deccan's Flight no. C-47A, headed to Delhi. He wished for that moment to be frozen in time.
And it was!
Flight no. C-47A disappeared from the face of earth. Seven years later, all 187 passengers are presumed dead, since no wreckage of that flight was ever found.
